Federal Ministry of Education – The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Mallam Adamu Adamu, hereby invites interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2018/2019 Nomination Interview for Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Award.

2018/2019 Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards Interview

Description
The Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship will be Awarded to:

  • Undergraduate (UG) studies tenable in Russia, Morocco, Algeria, Serbia, Hungary, Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Cuba, Romania, Ukraine, Japan, Macedonia; and
  • Postgraduate (PG) studies tenable in Russia (for those whose first degrees were obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, e.t.c.

Fields of Study

  • Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Languages, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (very limited), etc; and
  • Postgraduate level (Masters Degree and Ph.D) in all fields.

Criteria for Eligibility

A.) Undergraduate Scholarships:

  • All applicants for undergraduate degree courses must possess a minimum qualification of Five (5) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secoundary School Certificates, WAEC (May/June) only in the subjects relevant to their fields of study including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should not be more than Two (2) years old (2016 & 2017). Age limit is from 18 to 20 years.

B.) Postgraduate Scholarships:

  • All applicants for Undergraduate degree courses must hold a First Degree with at least 2nd Class Upper Division. The applicants who are previous recipients of Foreign Awards must have completed at least two (2) years post qualification or employment practice in Nigeria. All applicants must have completed N.Y.S.C. Age limit is 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D. and only:
    • N.Y.S.C discharge or exemption certificates only are accepted;
    • Evidence of readiness to be released by employer.

Note (For all Applicants):

  • Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one year foreign Languare course of the country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction; and
  • All applicants for Hungarian Scholarships must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu 
  • Complete the application form online
  • Print the completed form and bring to the interview venue in addition to 2.0 above.

Venue of Interview
All eligible applicants are to report for interview at the venues scheduled for their respective Zones of origin for proper identification. Two sets of completed application forms should be submitted at the various interview centres with the following attachments:

  • Two sets of Photocopies of Educational Certificates and Testimonials of previous schools attended with the originals for sighting;
  • Only one certificate is accepted i.e WAEC of May/June for
  • Undergraduate applicants;
  • Two copies of Birth Certificate from National Population Commission;
  • State of origin/LGA certificate duly signed, stamped and dated;
  • Four (4) coloured passport sized photographs on white background; and
  • Postgraduate applicatns will be required to submit Academic transcripts and NYSC discharge or Excemption certificates only.

  • Data page of current International passport; and
  • Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals.
  • Police Clearance Certificate where necessary.

University of Tampere Scholarships in Finland for International Students, 2018

Applications are invited for University of Tampere Scholarships Programme. These scholarships are available for pursuing international master’s degree programme.

The University of Tampere Scholarships Programme is intended for students who are required to pay tuition fees in Master’s degree programmes offered in English will be implemented as of autumn 2018.

The University of Tampere (UTA) is a public university in Tampere, Finland offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes with 20,178 degree students and 1,981 employees as of 2016. With its nine schools, UTA is one of the largest and most popular universities in Finland.

Founded in 1925 in Helsinki as the Civic College (Finnish: Kansalaiskorkeakoulu) and from 1930 onwards known as the School of Social Sciences (Finnish: Yhteiskunnallinen korkeakoulu), the institution relocated to Tampere in 1960 and was re-named as the University of Tampere in 1966. It is a culturally-committed higher education institution with the social mission of educating visionaries who understand the world and change it.

Scholarship Description:

  • Course Level:  Scholarships are available for pursuing international master’s degree programme.
  • Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in the fields offered by the university.
  • Scholarship Award: The University of Tampere tuition fee scholarships cover either 100% or 50% of the tuition fees in a two-year Master’s degree programme.
  • Nationality: Non-EU/EEA citizens can apply for University of Tampere Scholarships Programme
  • Number of Scholarships:  A substantial number of scholarships will be available
  • Scholarship can be taken in Finland

Eligibility for the Scholarship:

  • Eligible Countries:  Non-EU/EEA citizens can apply for University of Tampere Scholarships Programme.
  • Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have previous year degree.
  • English Language Requirements: University accepts the following tests as a proof of a good command of English:
  1. TOEFL, Test of English as a Foreign Language; 90/Internet-based, 575/paper-based Note: scores from “TOEFL ITP/institutional testing programme” are not accepted.
  2. IELTS (Academic), International English Language Testing System; 6.5 with no individual score below 5.5
  3. PTE (Academic), Pearson’s Test of Academic English; 62

An applicant must have a completed university level Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the field of the desired programme or in a closely related subject.

  • Applicants can apply through online processor.

How to Apply:

  • The application to the University of Tampere is done through an electronic portal. The application forms are available in the national Studyinfo.fi portal and also accessible on the programme webpages during the application time. All applications are preprocessed by University Admissions Finland (UAF). The online application form includes a CV and a motivation letter.
